Allow me to introduce myself.
I’m Sabrina McDonald, and you probably think you know what I’m going to say next. I could tell you my marital and parental status, my profession, my credentials, and my hobbies, but let’s face it. You don’t care about that. You want to know why you should keep reading and what value my content will add to your life. If you’re an introvert striving to progress in the workplace, in ministry, or in society without sacrificing authenticity, then we’re about to become fast friends.
I’m busting at the seams!
It’s the perfect time to share the lessons I’ve learned along my journey from struggling entry-level everything to trusted authority and confident consultant and coach without having to “become” an extrovert or force myself into an inauthentic persona. Research suggests that about 16-50% of the world’s population are introverts, and I have managed to figure out how to take up space and realize success in many aspects of life without being the loudest or most talkative person in the room. I want to share my discoveries with those who feel hopelessly lost in networking events and overcrowded conferences so they can have hope of achieving a quieter climb to success.
The source of my success
While there are a fair number of mysteries in my life, I will always be clear about where any and all of my success has come from. I believe with every fiber of my being that my success comes from God’s grace and wisdom. And as I have journeyed through my career and climbed from one level to another in the marketplace, I have been able to see the Kingdom principles that I apply in my personal life consistently show up to lead me to a winning place as an executive and workplace leader. They’ve been the basis for every achievement from struggling single mom with a dead-end low earning job to more than tripling my income in the public sector! I want to share those principles to give you hope that there is a way up no matter what your starting point is. If you’re a believer and want to apply Kingdom concepts to professional environments without having to “become” an extrovert, I invite you into my community.
What can you expect from me?
You can expect me to share my experiences as an introverted HR leader from a Biblical and Kingdom perspective as I reflect on what God has taught me in each of my professional encounters and transitions.
Tips on how to remain true to yourself while achieving your professional, personal, and spiritual goals.
Resources I’ve found helpful in my journey to success.
Occasional invitations to join me in other aspects of my life.
And now the personal stuff…
I said you didn’t care, but really, we all want an inside glance at the people we follow, so here goes.
I’m a wife navigating my second marriage after spending 20 years as a divorced single mom. I think being married a year and a half still qualifies me as a newlywed.
I’m mom to a 23-year-old son and bonus mom to a 19-year-old daughter. So, trust that I’ll occasionally have something to say about the blended family experience.
I’m a Pastor to a micro-church in Apex, NC that I recently relaunched with my newish husband. How’s that for an introvert contradiction?
I’m an experienced and introverted Human Resources Director with over 15 years of experience after 10 years as a Mental Health and Human Services professional. I know, it gets better and better, right?
I’m an author of a book for single Christian people called Waiting Doesn't Work and I am currently working on some additional encouragement pieces to help women in church who are hopelessly waiting for a spouse or life partner and suffering through vague and outdated advice from the church.
